Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Scientific Advances (JSA) considers plagiarism a serious violation of research integrity and academic ethics. The journal is committed to publishing original scholarly work and expects authors to ensure that all submitted manuscripts represent their own research contributions with proper acknowledgment of previously published ideas, text, data, and sources.

All submitted manuscripts may undergo plagiarism screening and editorial assessment before publication. The purpose of plagiarism checking is to maintain academic honesty, protect intellectual contributions, and ensure the reliability of published research.

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, the following practices:

  • Direct Plagiarism: Copying text, sentences, paragraphs, or other content from existing sources without proper citation or acknowledgment.
  • Mosaic Plagiarism: Combining phrases, ideas, or structures from multiple sources without appropriate attribution.
  • Self-Plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of an author's previously published work without proper disclosure or justification.
  • Data and Figure Misuse: Using research data, images, tables, or figures from other sources without permission or appropriate acknowledgment.
  • Idea Plagiarism: Presenting another researcher's concepts, methods, or findings as one's own contribution.

Authors submitting manuscripts to JSA are responsible for ensuring that their work is original and appropriately referenced. All sources, including previously published research, datasets, images, and other academic materials, must be properly cited according to accepted scholarly practices.

Authors should also disclose any previously published content, related manuscripts, or overlapping research that may be relevant to editorial evaluation. Failure to provide accurate disclosure may result in rejection or post-publication action.

If plagiarism or significant similarity is identified, the journal may take appropriate actions, including:

  • Requesting clarification or revision from authors when minor issues are identified.
  • Rejecting manuscripts with unacceptable levels of plagiarism or improper use of existing content.
  • Investigating ethical concerns related to published articles.
  • Issuing corrections, expressions of concern, or retractions when necessary after publication.

The Journal of Scientific Advances promotes responsible research practices and encourages authors, reviewers, and editors to maintain high standards of academic integrity. Through plagiarism prevention and ethical publishing practices, the journal aims to protect originality, transparency, and trust in scholarly communication.
