Authorship Criteria

The Journal of Scientific Advances (JSA) recognizes authorship as an important responsibility that reflects meaningful intellectual contribution to scholarly work. Authorship should be assigned only to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research process and who accept responsibility for the published content.

All authors listed on a manuscript should have a clear understanding of their contribution, approve the final version of the manuscript, and agree to be accountable for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical standards of the submitted research.

An individual should generally qualify for authorship by making substantial contributions in one or more of the following areas:

  • Contribution to the conception, design, methodology, or development of the research work.
  • Participation in data collection, experimentation, analysis, interpretation, or evaluation of research findings.
  • Significant involvement in drafting the manuscript or critically revising it for important intellectual content.
  • Approval of the final manuscript version submitted for publication.
  • Acceptance of responsibility for the research content and resolution of any questions related to accuracy or integrity.

Individuals who provide general supervision, administrative support, technical assistance, funding support, or routine assistance without substantial intellectual contribution should not normally be listed as authors. Their contributions may be acknowledged appropriately in the acknowledgment section of the manuscript.

The corresponding author is responsible for maintaining communication with the journal, ensuring that all authors approve the submission, managing authorship information, and addressing editorial queries during the review and publication process.

The journal expects authors to follow responsible authorship practices, including:

  • Providing accurate author information during manuscript submission.
  • Avoiding honorary, guest, or gift authorship practices.
  • Ensuring that all contributors who meet authorship requirements are properly recognized.
  • Obtaining agreement from all authors before submission and before any changes in authorship after submission.
  • Declaring any disputes or concerns related to authorship in a transparent manner.

The Journal of Scientific Advances promotes fair and transparent authorship practices to protect the rights of contributors and maintain trust in scholarly publishing. Any authorship-related concerns may be reviewed by the editorial team according to established publication ethics procedures.
